FWC Champions FC hosted officials of ProHealth HMO Limited at the Champions Fortress on Wednesday, January 22, for sensitization on the Health Insurance Scheme.
It is no longer news that both players and officials of FWC Champions FC enjoy the Sapphire Plan with the health insurance company as part of the benefits offered by the management.
The team headed by Mrs Bolanle Ernest-Egbe, stated that health insurance is a “scheme of advance financing of medical care through the pulling of funds (Premium) into a single purse where members can access care that are already determined.”
She explained that HMO does not give care but serve as a middle man to organize the 3rd party to access care, as well as monitor the care given to the beneficiary.
While clarifying the Sapphire plan, the HMO officials said the plan covers special referrals and routine test but also has limitations.
In addition, the plan covers treatments such as “X-Ray, chest limps and drugs, prescription drugs, admission is covered for a duration of 21 days, antenatal, normal delivery, family planning, child care services,(immunization, MPI,) minor surgery, ultra scan, eye care, simple infection, dental services, HIV services”
Consequently, players and officials had the opportunity to ask questions and conveyed complaints on previous experiences to the HMO officers.
Mrs Bolanle was accompanied by company’s Business Development and Marketing Officer, Mr Abraham Ajamazi.
