Covid-19: Chidi explains why forceful holiday is a blessing in disguise

The calling off of soccer activities temporarily due to the Covid-19 pandemic is obviously not a setback for Egwuonwu Chidi because it presents him the opportunity to regain fitness and return back to full action after the period is over.

The big attacker battled with a Medial Collateral Ligament, MCL injury for six-weeks and was on recovery path when all activities was called off.

This, therefore, gives the Jersey No 8. attacker the opportunity to regain fitness and meet up with his teammates when activities return to normal.

In a chat with Chidi, he said he has not been affected by the forceful break and it could mean a blessing to him.

“I will not say the forceful holiday has affected me because I have been injured for a while. I had a sprain in my inner knee, known as Medial Collateral Ligament, MCL and I have been out for over a month. So I will say the holiday will help my healing process and my rehabilitation.” He told the club’s website

“I will be on rehab to be able to get back to shape with some slight exercises to work on the strengthening of the knee.” He added

When asked what he will do to get busy during the break, he said “I will hit the gym the more, play table tennis and do more swimming”
