FWC Champions FC filed out against Super Stars Football Academy of Mpape at the Area 3 Sports Complex on Wednesday, March 18 in a friendly game and that excites coach Bartholomew David.
After a barren 25 minutes, Joel Okoro was subbed in as he went ahead to deliver a screamer to put the team ahead with a goal while a free kick goal by Suberu Adeiza made it 2-0 win for the Champions Who Care with no goal recorded in the second half.
However, Coach Bartholomew David in a chat with the media team said he is happy with the friendly game because it will help his team to prepare for the Aiteo FA Cup that is around the corner.
He noted that the Area 3 pitch would be used for the Aiteo FA Cup, making it important for his players to get used to the turf.
“I am happy with the game. It’s a good one and it is an opportunity for me to also prepare for the Aiteo FA Cup while preparing for the NLO 1.
” You can see that my players were not as mobile as they used to be because of the pitch. So, we have to get used to the pitch and games like this will help us achieve that.
“We will ensure we get more games on the Area 3 pitch and also train here as well.”
The Aiteo FA Cup is expected to begin any moment from now as the fixtures and schedule is still being expected.
